I will drive you through the typical countryside North of Amsterdam. The province is called North Holland.

Our first stop is be the well-known Zaanse Schans. This is the first industrial area in the world. Once, there were more than a thousand windmills spread around here. Today it is a beautiful old village where you still can find the small historical (wooden) houses, all painted in green. At the Zaanse Schans you also find the first supermarket in Holland, Albert Heijn.

After Zaandam we will have an hour drive to the ferry to the largest island of Holland, Texel. The population of this island is only around 10.000. But during the high season, the summer months, tenfold that number. The crossover takes about 20 minutes. Sometimes you already can spot the seals from the deck. Once we arrive, we go to Den Burg. This is the largest village on the island. Texel is famous for its lamb and beer. Maybe you can have both for lunch? (not included, I have some tips for you). We can have a short stop at the beer brewery.

After lunch, we can choose to have a walk in the dunes or beach and visit the lighthouse in the town sounds funny to our English speaking visitors, De Cocksdorp. Another possibility is to visit Ecomare, a nature museum, seal sanctuary, sea aquarium and a bird sanctuary. It is located in the National Park Dunes of Texel. This is an excellent place to take a close look at the seals and the birdlife and see their feeding. Ecomare is a great place for both children and adults.

From here it is a 2 hour drive back to Amsterdam.

As your private tour guide, I can adjust the schedule, duration at your needs. Please let me know of any special requests.
